GOLDDeploy Agent

The GOLDDeploy Agent is a small program installed on each workstation that runs GOLDDeploy software. The GOLDDeploy Agent registers itself with the server. When an installation package becomes available at the server, the agent program downloads the package and runs the installation, adding or upgrading the software (such as CIM GOLD) on the workstation.

NOTE

The GOLDDeploy Management screen in CIM GOLD and GOLDDeploy AgentConfigurator require .NET Framework, version 4.7.

This section describes the GOLDDeploy Agent program and explains how to use it.

Agent Installation

The GOLDDeploy Agent program must be installed the first time on a workstation by someone with administrative rights on the machine. To install the program, right-click on the installation file, GoldDeployAgentInstall.exe, and choose "Run As Administrator." Windows will run the installation, which will perform the following steps:

1.Install the configurator program on your workstation.

2.Install a Windows service program that does the actual work on your workstation.

3.Add a shortcut to the programs list in the Start menu.

The installation program can be configured by FPS GOLD to install default settings specific to your institution.
